Jessika Poppe: “Coolest feeling ever ???????????????? so honored to be representing the most innovative and badass OCR ????????”
James A. Stangle: “Amazing day today at Savage Race Florida!!”
Primal Fitness: “Savage Race was ours today ????????
Quiana White: “???? I ran my very first obstacle course race today in Dade City, Florida!! The race is called Savage Race and its 7.1 miles long and filled with over 20 different obstacles! If I had ANY inkling that I’m a fitness beast that was QUICKLY laid to rest today! ???????? I had my behind handed to me!!! ???? I have an intense fear of heights and of small places (i.e. claustrophobia) and I faced BOTH of those fears today through those obstacles!!! ???? I’m MOST proud of jumping off of a 40-foot platform into a huge tank of cold water! That was INSANE!! But now I’m basically an exhausted sore muscle – all of me! Haha!
Brent Upham: “The Savage Race was a beast!”

FAQ & Answers

  • The registration process for the run was? Simple
  • I registered? Online
  • The price of the run was? Depends on time you sign up, closer to race – more expensive it will be!
  • I bought on discount or pre-sale? Yes, with our MudRunFinder Code ( Go to our Discount Page ) !! *Best time is during race after party where prices are HUGELY discounted & they give you cool swag as well for signing up*
  • The price vs the value was? Highly worth it & then some
  • The post-race perks included? Awesome & comfortable T-shirt, sharp looking medal, banana, water & beer. Also if you do 2 races ( or laps ) you get that awesome syndicate medal.
  • The check in process on the day of the run was? Very Smooth! Walk up, nearly no wait, have ID ready and waiver signed…done & ready to run & have fun
  • The obstacles of the course were? From fun to challenging, from upper body only obstacles, to only leg obstacles
  • The most challenging obstacle was? Depends on your strengths & weaknesses. If your scared of heights, Davy Jones is tough mentally to overcome. If you can’t do pullups – Sawtooth, Twirly Bird & Mad Ladders will be more challenging for you. Grip strength will be tested with the new Battering Ram obstacle. If you weakness is legs and cardio, well 7 miles and the new Pedal for the Medal obstacle will give you a good run for your money. For me personally tough, the Twirly Bird obstacle was the toughest one for me today. I conquered it on my 2nd try, but I learned it’s easier for me to use my dominate hand on handles than the ropes. I suggest if you fail one way, you try the opposite way next and see how that works for you.
  • The most unique or fun obstacle was? Truthfully, Savage Race is filled with epic obstacles from beginning to end. I personally like Holy Sheet & Sawtooth the best!
  • The quality conditions of the course were? Well maintained & well marked course
  • This is a great run for? For all types of athletes, from beginner to elite trying for top placements medals, prizes & money.
  • Additional recommendations for those planning to run this event are? Bring a friend! It’s always better to run / compete with people you know.
  • Overall I would rate this run? (1 – 5 star; 5 is best) 5 Stars. Everything you would expect out of an epic OCR event. Educated staff & volunteers, well marked course, cool medals, and a great after party for everyone to hangout in and hang fun with each other. You can tell they have been doing this for awhile. Organized, fun, and challenging! I also like the new wristband policy for the Pro Wave athletes. After completing your race, you have to turn in a velcro band to receive your Official Savage Race Wristband! Harder to hide that in your pocket, and makes runners be more truthful with their 100% obstacle completion. This course had a mixture of everything, you had to be a well rounded athlete to pass this course with 100% completion. Proud to say I earned my wristband!!
