Green Beret Challenge – Operators Course II – Mud Run Review

 

 

  • The registration process for the run was? Simple
  • I registered? Online
  • The price of the run was? $79 Elite – Get the FULL experience, do the Elite Wave ( you will love it more after you finish ) !!
  • I bought on discount or pre-sale? Yes –MRF10
  • The price vs the value was? Worth it
  • The post-race perks included? Sweet Shirt, cold beer & a sharp looking medal!!
  • The check in process on the day of the run was – Very Smooth
  • The obstacles of the course were? Well maintained, they changed the layout of the course, which added some new twists to some of the obstacles.
  • The most challenging obstacle was? Yoke carry – athletes carry a log with sandbags at the ends and take them a ½ mile through the Georgia clay and wilderness. Mark Ballas ( owner & course designer )  moved this endurance challenge towards the end of the course and that was a game changer, it made the course more of a challenge ( like saving the best for last ) ! I noticed there were a couple of people that couldn’t handle the challenge anymore, so some sandbags were left behind!  * I hope they didn’t get a medal, haha *
  • The most unique or fun obstacle was? Rope ladder in the flooded zone to a cargo net! One of a kind obstacle!
  • The quality conditions of the obstacles were? Well maintained
  • This is a great run for? Someone who like a physical & mental challenge, wants more than just an obstacles on their course, and someone who will not give up! If your not interested in pushing yourself, stay home and wait for an easy course to come your way! This is one of the most amazing scenic courses you can ever run!
  • Additional recommendations for those planning to run this event are? Bring your A-Game!! Green Beret Challenge will push you to your limits and then some!! Hydrate, HYDRATE, HYDRATE!!! Train if you can, include carrying blocks, practice that yoke and climb ropes.
  • Overall I would rate this run? ( 1 – 5 star; 5 is best) 5 Stars
