Terrain Race presents – Tampa 2018
Terrain Races are based around a 5k structure, so you can generally expect about 3 miles of mud, walls, ropes, monkey bars, and 20+ other examples of anything they’re able to fit into the unique terrain of each venue they visit.They’re consistently striving for innovation and excitement in their obstacles, so there’s always a chance you’ll see something brand new! From the moment you step off of that start line, until you triumphantly cross the finish, we hope you’re prepared to have the time of your life among so many of your new best friends in the Terrain community.
If you’re looking for some killer endurance training, then you can pay for the Unlimited Laps and run laps all day long! Each time you cross the finish, you’ll get plenty of high fives and congratulations, in addition to a special multi-lap pin. By the end of the day, you can put all of those pins on your medal’s ribbon and proudly strut through the festival area, enjoying some delicious food and a cold beer while thinking of the immensity of the accomplishment you conquered that day.

PARKING
Parking will be $15 – $25 depending on the different venues. Make sure and carpool so you can save a little money!
Bag Check
You can check your gear for $5 (paid at the event).
COURSE OPTIONS & DETAILS:
All athletes in the Competitive Wave will be timed.
Terrain Race uses chip timing so you can see how fast you really are and provide you with a free printable finisher certificate online after.
Terrain staff, volunteers and ambassadors are not eligible for prize money and awards. Athletes in the competitive wave will not be eligible for prize money if they practice on any obstacle or pre-run the course.
While you must be at least 14 years old to run the 5k course by yourself, children aged 7-13 are fully welcome and encouraged to run the 5k with a parent or guardian.
And then for the crowd of 2 to 10 year olds, we have the Mini Monkey course, which is a half mile scaled-down version of our adult course, but made kid sized! The kids have an absolute blast with it, and they even get their own medal at the finish!

During the race, there will be water stations.

Competitive Male: 8:00 am
Competitive Female: 8:05 am
Waves every 15 minutes from 8:15 – Noon
Pricing Structure
Tiered Pricing Structure:
- 5k: $15 until 12/5
- Unlimited Laps: $45 until 12/5
- VIP Terrain Race: $80 until 12/5
- Mini Money: $20 until 12/5
Packet Picket
The only packet pickup is on race day before the event. Gates open at 7:00 am.
You can pick up your friend’s packet but you must have a printed copy of their Check-In Ticket.

Spectators
While Terrain Race strives to create an event that would be worthy of spectators enthusiastically paying to see it, they’re excited to stay that there is NO CHARGE for spectators. That’s right– Your friends and family can all come watch your moment of triumph without paying a single cent to cheer you on as you cross the finish. They’ll have a great time watching you race, but they’re also fully welcome to enjoy themselves in the festival area as well. Who knows? If they’re really nice, they might even pick up your food and have it waiting at the finish line. (But hey, you’ve got to discuss that with them. See how much they love you, ya know?)
ARRIVAL
For Runners: Be Early
- Arrive an hour before your start time. This gives you plenty of time to park, pick up your packet, drop your stuff at bag check, find your friends & get warmed up.

There’s no dress code, but you’ll be running in mud & climbing obstacles.
Our elites recommend: performance gear (NOT COTTON), water packs, compression underwear and headgear.
Advice from experience: is to race in what you train in – new shoes on race day are NOT recommended.
