Guess what, Alberta? We’re back! Spartan is taking over Heritage Ranch once again for an epic weekend of Supers, Sprints and Kids races. Known as the Jewel of Red Deer, this sprawling park lies on the banks of the Red Deer River. Maybe you’re a challenge-seeker who will conquer both distances in one weekend. Either way, you’ll have an unforgettable weekend in Red Deer on race day and beyond. 1. This course’s stable elevation will keep you at a steady pace throughout the race. But the back-and-forth between wide and single-track trails will force you to be strategic: you’ll have to find the right moment to pass the person in front of you to snag your medal. 2. Heritage Ranch is halfway between Calgary and Edmonton, making it perfect for Oilers and Flames fans alike. The Battle of Alberta will finally reach a truce as racers from across Wild Rose Country crush the course together. 3. There’s plenty to do on-site at this incredible ranch. Grab a bite to eat at the Westlake Grill, go for a guided trail ride on horseback or take a stroll around the 217 acres of land onsite. 4. Red Deer is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway. With spring in full bloom during race weekend and plenty to do in town, this city is the ideal place to escape from your busy schedule.

The Spartan Sprint: Spartan Sprint is a 5 km, 20 obstacle race that will change your life. This is their signature race type, a fast-paced adventure through rugged terrain built for new and returning racers alike. It’s the perfect gateway into the world of Spartan. The Sprint is a Spartan Trifecta eligible event.
The Spartan Super: Spartan Super is a 10 km, 25 obstacle race that blends speed, endurance and technical skill. Supers are built to always keep you guessing, testing your athleticism and mental fortitude over rugged terrain. This race separates athletes from Spartans. The Super is a Spartan Trifecta eligible event.
Hurricane Heat: Spartan Hurricane Heat is a team-based adventure challenge that trades course distance for time. Your Hurricane Heat will last either 4, 12 or 24 hours and will not finish with a single victor. HH Teams band together, solving complex physical and mental problems as they endure and overcome as one.
Kids Race: Spartan Kids is a series of obstacle course races — ranging from 800m to 3.2km — specifically designed to get your kids (ages 4-14) outside, feeling accomplished and having fun. They’ll run, jump and crush their way through obstacles, just like the adults.

To be eligible for Spartan awards and cash prizes, you must register for the Spartan Elite wave.

There’s no dress code, but you’ll be running through trails, mud & water while climbing over walls, underneath nets and ropes. So, dress comfortably.
Our elites recommend: performance gear (NOT COTTON), compression underwear, high socks & long sleeves.
Advice from experience: is to race in what you train in – new shoes on race day are NOT recommended.
