The Relevant Running experience is as competitive as you make it. COURSE OPTIONS & DETAILS:
Relevant Running is always trying to help keep you motivated and inspired. It’s been said that US Marines run 165+ miles during recruit training (aka boot camp). Join us throughout May and June 2021 for the Military Miles Challenge. A virtual challenge for runners and walkers of all ages anywhere at any time. Your goal, should you choose to accept it, is to walk and/or run 165 purposeful/training miles from May 1st until June 30th 2021. But, there is more than just a single medal! Read on for details!
Military Miles Challenge runners will receive:
The custom designed Military Miles Challenge medal representing 6 major branches of the US Military (US Marines, Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, and Space Force). Scroll down for picture of this awesome custom medal. Runners who surpass 165 miles during the 2 month challenge will receive 1 dog tag (with ball chain) of their choice for each additional 15 miles beyond 165 miles. During the 2 month challenge, you will receive an email from the Race Director requesting your dog tag branch of service preferences. PLEASE NOTE: Runners are limited to earning a maximum of 6 dog tags for this challenge. Scroll down for pictures of the dog tags.
Tracking
You will upload your miles into Runsignup daily during the Challenge. You will be able to see your progress tracking bar as well as milestones achieved along the way. You will also be able to follow others that are currently active in the Challenge.
Aid / Water Stations
Stay hydrated! If you need water, bring it!
RACE SCHEDULE
You can start/join the Challenge any time after 12:01am Eastern time May 1st 2021. Complete your purposeful/training miles at your own pace throughout the 2 months. The Challenge ends at 11:59pm Eastern time June 30th 2021.

There’s no dress code, but you’ll be running where-ever you choose. Run in what you feel you need/like to!
Our elites recommend: performance gear (NOT COTTON), compression underwear, high socks and headgear.
Advice from experience: is to race in what you train in – new shoes on race day are NOT recommended.
