The Gasparilla Distance Classic Association, established in 1978, is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization dedicated specifically to raising funds for charitable youth organizations and running programs in the Tampa Bay area.

Coming back to Tampa
Come out to Tampa Bay and test your endurance at the Gasparilla Distance Classic. Every stride you make at the race benefits charitable youth organizations across the Tampa Bay area. And since the first running of the Gasparilla Distance Classic in February 1978, $5.9 million has been donated to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa Bay, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tampa Bay, The Friends of Tampa Recreation, and youth non-profit and running-related programs throughout the Tampa Bay area.

PARKING:
There are many city parking lots and on-street parking close to the start and finish line. Expect to pay $5 or more for all-day parking with no in-and-out privileges.

There’s no dress code, but you’ll be running on downtown Tampa roads. So, dress comfortably.
Our elites recommend: performance gear (NOT COTTON), compression underwear, high socks & long sleeves.
Advice from experience: is to race in what you train in – new shoes on race day are NOT recommended.
