Coming back to Tampa, FL!!!

Come out to Tampa Bay and test your endurance at the Gasparilla Distance Classic. Every stride you make at the race benefits charitable youth organizations across the Tampa Bay area. And since 1978, the Gasparilla Distance Classic Association has donated $3.9 million to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Tampa, Girls Inc. of Pinellas, The Friends of Tampa Parks & Recreation and youth running related programs.

There are many city parking lots and on-street parking close to the start and finish line. Expect to pay $5 or more for all-day parking with no in-and-out privileges.

RULES & REGULATIONS FOR COMPETITION

A Publix Gasparilla Half Marathon American Only Prize Purse ($30,000) will not be offered in 2021. The Publix Gasparilla Half Marathon American Only Prize Purse will tentatively return on Sunday, February 22, 2022. **

** For American Only Prize Purse consideration, athletes must be citizens of the United States and able to represent the United States in all levels of international competition.

PLEASE NOTE: As of October 2020, there will be a Local Prize Purse for the 2021 Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic 15K ($10,000) and 2021 Publix Gasparilla Half Marathon ($10,000). Due to COVID 19 Race Day Mitigation Requirements, this could change prior to the 2021 Publix Gasparilla Distance Classic Race Weekend.

** Only those runners who reside in Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Polk, Hernando, Manatee & Sarasota Counties on a full-time basis (365 days a year) will be eligible to compete for the Local Prize Purse. Prize money will not be awarded until full-time residency is verified.

There’s no dress code, but you’ll be running on downtown Tampa roads. So, dress comfortably.

Our elites recommend: performance gear (NOT COTTON), compression underwear, high socks & long sleeves.

Advice from experience: is to race in what you train in – new shoes on race day are NOT recommended.
