Bears Who Care presents –2022 5th Annual OktoBEARfest Fun Run & Walk
Bears Who Care experience is as competitive as you make it. Rally your team and battle the other teams in your division for bragging rights, or simply make it your goal to cross the finish line! Bears Who Care events are about coming together and accomplishing something you thought could never do. From the elite runner to the generally active individual, Bears Who Care events have you covered.

Parking will be on the left side as you face the front of the Orlando Health building (on the same side as the emergency room). There will be signs and attendants guiding you.

Distance: 5K (3.1 miles); 1K (0.62 miles)
The fifth annual Bears Who Care OktoBEARfest 5K Fun Run & Walk is a healthy, family-friendly event that will be more BEARRIFIC than ever! Either in person or virtually, run, walk or jog for a worthwhile cause, Bears Who Care, which provides teddy bears and books to children in need throughout the community. After the 5K and Kid’s Race, enjoy a morning of fun activities, including live entertainment, interactive sponsor booths, raffles, a scavenger hunt, plus prize giveaways.
A special celebrity guest will be making an appearance this year: Emmy award-winning actor, Eric Martsolf and star of the popular NBC daytime drama, “Days of our Lives!” There is an OktoBEARfest 5K VIP experience (on 10/23/22) available for a limited number of guests, so you can walk the race route and take photos with him. Your registration includes an official race t-shirt, finisher medal, goody bag, VIP seating area and a special autographed gift. *This experience is limited to 25 guests.*
Runners and walkers are all welcome to participate!

For everyone’s safety, we ask faster runners to line up closer to the front of the start corral, then followed by run/walkers, walkers, and those with strollers ( if allowed ) toward the back.

ALL of the proceeds from the 2022 OktoBEARfest Fun Run will benefit children in need through Bears Who Care, which provides new teddy bears and books to children who are disadvantaged or ill.
Pre-race packet pick up and race registration times will be posted closer to the event.

*5K packets and bibs will be available at the event starting at 6:30 am before the start of the race. Please go to the Registration/Packet Pick Up area near the Start/Finish line.
All pre-registered participants will receive a special event day t-shirt. Sizes are only guaranteed to participants registered by 10/9/21. Shirts and shirt sizes are not guaranteed for day of race registration.
Award Ceremony & Placement
Awards will be given in the following categories:
5K – Top Five Male, Top Five Female
For Runners: Be Early
- Arrive an hour before your start time. This gives you plenty of time to park, pick up your packet, drop your stuff at bag check, find your friends & get warmed up.

There’s no dress code, but you’ll be running. So, dress comfortably.
Our elites recommend: performance gear (NOT COTTON), compression underwear, high socks & long sleeves.
Advice from experience: is to race in what you train in – new shoes on race day are NOT recommended.
